The rockshelf becomes a natural amphitheater where midday life unfolds in perfect vignettes. In the foreground, three friends settle into their own private rock pool spa, their relaxed conversation mixing with the soft ripple of contained water. Further back, two girls walk in easy companionship, gazing toward the horizon, while nearby two young men study the meeting point of rock and sea with the focused intensity of those timing the perfect leap.

Thick purposeful brush marks capture the movement of water, while bright highlights dance across this large painting, a nod to the sharp glare of midday sun on wet surfaces. This luminous energy finds its grounding in the solid, earthy rockface that anchors the composition. The palette of sapphire blue, aqua, and opal creates a crystalline brilliance that speaks to the clarity and intensity of the noon hour, when light transforms every surface and every moment pulses with possibility.

  • "A Day at the Beach" presents a series of paintings that chronicle the shifting colours, moods, and activities that define different moments of a beach day. From the soft anticipation of dawn to the vibrant energy of midday, each painting captures a specific time and feeling—the colours and atmosphere of 6:37am will be vastly different from those at 11:42am or 2:42pm. This exhibition celebrates the full spectrum of experiences that the beach offers, honouring both the quiet contemplative moments and the joyful bursts of activity that make each visit unique.
