Sunday energy flows through four distinct worlds within one frame. Three young women gather in animated conversation, two women venture beyond the rocky outcrop into open ocean, a young girl walks purposefully up the beach clutching her treasure, while a young family digs their ambitious hole in the sand—each group lost in the timeless rituals of Sunday afternoon.
The composition divides into horizontal worlds: textured sand, sheltered rockpool with its dramatic gap to the sea, wild breaking waves, and serene sky above. The palette creates striking contrasts—opal sky with subtle movement flows into rich teal ocean marked by purposeful white slashes emphasizing the sea's energy, while free strokes render the tactile fawn sand that invites touch and play.

1:32pm The Weekend
"A Day at the Beach" presents a series of paintings that chronicle the shifting colours, moods, and activities that define different moments of a beach day. From the soft anticipation of dawn to the vibrant energy of midday, each painting captures a specific time and feeling—the colours and atmosphere of 6:37am will be vastly different from those at 11:42am or 2:42pm. This exhibition celebrates the full spectrum of experiences that the beach offers, honouring both the quiet contemplative moments and the joyful bursts of activity that make each visit unique.
