The shallows become a stage for morning rituals and quiet communion. Two boys claim their kingdom atop a lone rock while a father floats peacefully with his three children. Nearby, three women stand in gentle conversation, their voices mixing with the lapping waves. A swimmer adjusts his goggles, preparing for deeper waters, while another moves with quiet purpose through the gentle current. Others float in their own private sanctuaries, each finding solitude within the shared space.

Viewed from above, the composition reveals an intricate choreography of human connection and individual reflection. The palette of verdigris and opal creates a sense of morning freshness, with pops of aqua punctuating the calm like scattered jewels across the water's surface.

  • "A Day at the Beach" presents a series of paintings that chronicle the shifting colours, moods, and activities that define different moments of a beach day. From the soft anticipation of dawn to the vibrant energy of midday, each painting captures a specific time and feeling—the colours and atmosphere of 6:37am will be vastly different from those at 11:42am or 2:42pm. This exhibition celebrates the full spectrum of experiences that the beach offers, honouring both the quiet contemplative moments and the joyful bursts of activity that make each visit unique.
